AliMed® Inflatable Carrot Finger Orthosis is the answer to your toughest hand contracture problems. This orthosis is an inflatable cone-shaped tube covered with velvety bacteriostatic cloth. With the carrot deflated and the cover in place, the orthosis is pulled into the severely contracted hand using a placement wand. Once inserted into the hand, the Carrot can be gradually inflated to reduce even the most severe contracture. Ideal for patients experiencing extreme pain or significant anxiety with splint placement.

No more prying contracted fingers open to scrub the hand or wrestling to get hand splints in place. The AliMed Carrot Orthosis System gently opens the hand gradually enough to allow access for better hygiene and easier positioning for traditional hand splints. Clearly numbered markings and the graduated carrot shape provide caregivers a way to accurately measure a patient’s progress for assured reimbursement.
For the most severely contracted hands, choose the Inflatable Carrot. When deflated, this carrot can easily be pulled through a clenched fist. As the carrot is gently, partially inflated with the included inflation bulb, the hand contracture is stretched and relaxed allowing more air to be gradually added to the carrot. This way, the progressive hand contracture reduction continues without pain or trauma to the patient.
